European "Big Bang" Experiment Empty
PostSubject: European "Big Bang" Experiment   European "Big Bang" Experiment EmptyMon Sep 08, 2008 7:34 pm

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,418582,00.html

This scares the crap outta me. Playing with atoms is nothing to F around with! To put this simply w/o you reading my link: The European "big bang" experiment has been in the making for 2 decades and goes online Wed. What they are trying to do (from what I understand) is recreate the "big bang" by colliding atoms at the speed of light via harpooning them at eachother in a 17-mile diameter underground chamber.
We all know an atom bomb splits a uranium atom.
Bottom line: Only the experiment's creator believes he knows what this will do. Many scientists fear such an atom collision will create black holes that will destroy our planet and maybe more.

I say - Let the creation of the universe be a question we ask God. This just isn't worth the risk.

Thoughts?

I agree. I had heard this before. I doubt though, that anything will happen. We haven't seen the Antichrist yet. Or have we? silent

European "Big Bang" Experiment Empty
PostSubject: Re: European "Big Bang" Experiment   European "Big Bang" Experiment EmptyWed Sep 10, 2008 6:42 pm

There was an article on MSN today that said some Indian girl committed suicide because she was so afraid of the Big Bang Experiment!!!! Crazy Indians!!

It will be poetic if they fire that big mother up, smash some atoms, and absolutely nothing happens.

I don't know if anyone remembers this, but years ago, the US shot a probe to Mars with the sole purpose of smashing into the ice-cap and trying to find out if there was anything living and what not. There was a big uproar about the possibility of us finding some semblance of life and the impact that would have on the general publics weak minds. Well, when that probe got to Mars about a year later it got over the ice-cap and then just disappeared off the Radar before it every touched down. Sometimes it seems like God will let science only go so far before He decides to play Badminton with a probe or a particle accelerator.

I'm just rambling, but to me it's interesting how some things work out that way.

Yeah those crazy Navajos have been causing problems for a long time now. I was thinking we should spread some disease, maybe smallpox onto something like a blanket and give them to the dirty mexican greasers. Watch out for that Chavez E chavez though he is bad ass.

Let the people big bang all they want. Either shit will happen or we get to see some wicked ass sci-fi movie fx black holes.

European "Big Bang" Experiment Empty
PostSubject: Re: European "Big Bang" Experiment   European "Big Bang" Experiment EmptyThu Sep 11, 2008 1:37 am

I was listening to a radio interview about this on the way home. They guy was explaining how it worked and what it was for and he basically said that for normal people this will have no interesting outcome. He also said that while no one can 100% guarantee this won't create a black hole or something catastrophic, he said the chances of something like that happening are extremely slight.

He said basically they are looking to complete the Standard Model.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_Model

Basically, they are looking for new matter that would be created by the smashing of these protons they are shooting at each other. Apparently when protons smash into each other, matter is created by forcing such a high amount of energy into such a small space.

Scientists believe that the matter that we know of, what we can touch, smell, see, hear, accounts for only 5% of matter in the universe and they want to find the other 95%. How they know this mystery matter exists, I have no idea.

So, in conclusion, they say this is how everything started with the Big Bang, by some protons smashing together billions of years ago and everything growing from that.

But while Big Bang theorists continue to ridicule Christians about believing in a God that created everything out of nothing, none of them can tell you where these protons came from.

HA HA HA HA HA HA !!! Wrong Indians, Hurley. It was an Asian Indian. But, the Chavez E Chavez remark is classic. And instead of Smallpox, why not re-introduce them to some rodents carrying the Hanta Virus.

I don't think Sanderson has made a definite decision. If I had to say for sure he might be there but I for sure won't. The reunion does not sound appealing to me. Hoo Rah for those who go but 30 out of 91 people doesn't sound promising to me.

Big bang Babbie its a blast ....

Bethany, Have you read the book The Obama Nation? I am reading it now. Scary stuff! He is a not so closet socialist who wants to be at the top of the wealth redistribution pile. Everything in the book is meticulously cited and referenced. Absolutely worth a read.

Oh Allen, I do love me some California, but c'mon, do you really think that a southern, Christian, uber-conservative gal like myself could be brainwashed so easily?! Those cats in Hollywood sure didn't know what to make of me in my full sized Bronco with my Bass Anglers Sportsman Society sticker on the back Very Happy

Brandi, I'm going to the bookstore ASAP to get the book...thanks for the recommendation! How are you girl? Last time I saw you was at Outback maybe? I'd love to get to see you soon!

Phillip, you flatter me...not that I mind being flattered! But thank you, darlin'. I have to see you!!! Are you coming to the ballgame Friday? I sure hope so...it's been way too long. I heard you weren't going to be able to make it to the reunion...that makes me so sad! But it's probably better that way anyhow...if I got to see you two nights in a row I just don't know what I'd do with myself!

Brandi...I want to catch up with you, too!!! Are you coming to the game, or reunion? Please come...to both! I really want to see everyone with their little ones. It's so weird that we have kids!!!! But now that we're back in TN I'm really hoping to catch up with my fellow 98ers!

I will for sure be at the game but without the baggage(family). Need to see me some Cunningham stomp some ass. Especially since coach martin has lost his damned mind again and wants to play 4a and 5a schools. Sounds eerily like our senior year. Playing Pearl Conn was a stupid move jackass.

Imus is a lowly shock jock. He only believes in making the headlines. Just like Michael Moore or Howard Stern. I wish society would ignor these bottom-feeders. Rolling Eyes

Soceity cannot exist without bottom feeders. If not for them many jobs would be lost and since my job is skill-less I would have to contend with them to keep working. However if I could get paid mucho monies for shocking people with what I said, I'd do it. For the simple fact that society will/can not ignore bottom feeders they profit. I am amazed that people make a shite load of money doing what I did in high school.

PostSubject: Re: European "Big Bang" Experiment   European "Big Bang" Experiment EmptyTue Sep 16, 2008 11:08 pm

Okay, I'm late to this discussion because I've been in the great softening state of CA for a couple of weeks. Anyway, as a scientist's wife this has been big shop talk for a while now.

Why is no one asking where all of the moola for this project is coming from and why these dudes still want to go through with this if they don't believe it will actually show anything? I mean they argue, "Hey, folks! No worries! There's not a chance in hell this is gonna work!" but they still have no problem spending up the big cash for this crazy facility that is really no good for much other than atom smashing (which, by the way, they've been doing in Amsterdam, I believe it is, for years now).

And, yeah...the physicists I know are pooping their pants. They believe that even though there may be no obvious initial effect, over time this project may just gobble us all up. I don't believe the end of time looks like this (I mean Ahmadinejad and the 12th Imam have laid claim to that already haven't they?), so I'm not buying the adult diapers yet, but it's kind of fun watching the brainiacs around here squabble about it.

And uh...sanderson, I believe they are called "East Indians" but, you know, whatever.
