Yeah, you can feel how the Cayman hugs the road. The fastest my husband has done with me in the car is 148mph and you could feel how the tires held onto the road. I know everyone LOVES the 911s, but the Cayman S is a super sports car. A jet boat will be our next toy this summer when my husband gets home, but the Ducati 1098 and more and more sports cars are on the way. What can I say? He's a pilot and he has a need for speed. LOL

Here are my favorite toys:

First, we have Patches, our kitten that I rescued from the cold winter:

Here's my favorite new technological toy:

A future toy I would like to have, even for just a few short years of bliss:

I just put a hold on a new Yamaha SX230 High Output jet boat! I can't wait to get to Charleston and get it! We're going to have so much fun with it when my husband gets home. Ours will be blue like this one in the picture. Two months and counting!!! Please keep him in your prayers.

Susan...I don't know why but I just can't get into the flight suit. And mine isn't a pilot but a nav...B-1. Is your hubby also a daredevil?! Also I am jealous of the boat...Mike (aka the boy toy) is saving for a MasterCraft. Don't think it will do him much good if he gets stationed in Rapid City, SD though Wink

No, Julie, it probably wouldn't do him any good in Rapid City. But what a sight it would be if they put up a huge body of water right in front of Mount Rushmore. Now there's a scenic view.

Incidentally, my dad's mom was born in Gettysburg, SD. Her dad's dad moved there from Sogn og Fjordane, Norway in the 1880s during the period of time where you could get a huge piece of land through the Homestead Act. So when Mr. Hamlett taught us about that period, I brought in a copy of the deed signed by the then-President. He thought it was really cool. And when he had to describe who in the class had the "Nordic" look, he chose me for brown hair, 6-foot-plus, and blue eyes. Although my girlfriend argues over the proper name for my eye color! Hahaha.

What recess games were your favorites? I had a flashback today of freeze tag and all of the morphed versions. I preferred tv freeze tag. Dodge ball is still #1 though.

I love kickball until I fell down on the concrete in my Sam and Libby's rounding 3rd base. I bloodied up my favorite skirt.

Anyone remember "line aerobics" in 8th grade, ladies??

Recess - I liked playing kickball, too except I would drop the ball. I remember one time I was the one who dropped the kickball instead of catching it to get an out. I had "lost the game." It was a very big deal in second grade.

Basketball and flag football, dodgeball, volleyball, I just didn't really like jumping rope or running "the mile run." Outside of recess I enjoyed swimming.

Hells ya! Jumping Rope was the coolest! Apparently I was pretty good too. Mrs. Rice (I think her name was) gave me a special part in the routine we did at bball games. ...It is sad, I don't know if I could do any of that anymore. I'd probly kill over. Embarassed
I can just imagine trying to do a front handspring into the double-butch now-a-days.. It wouldn't be pretty.. Razz

Here is a picture of Philip holding his new toy in my backyard.

And here is a picture of me holding it. I look kind of redneck, but it felt cool! Cool

No you do not need any kind of registration or permit to own or have a gun in your home. Permit is only if you want to carry. The absolute best gun for home defense is a 12ga. shotgun but its not the easiest to wield. Also TN has no waiting period. You can go buy a gun and ammo today if you want. Handguns are the easiest to handle but also the most dangerous to have with kids. Revolvers are the easiest of the handguns to operate but the downside is they have no safety so it has to be out of reach and or locked. Taurus makes a revolver that is a 410 shot or a 45 long colt. I want one myself. They are not easy to find but I would highly reccomend it, also Taurus guns(and many others now) are made with a built in lock that is easy to operate with a small key rather than the cable locks or trigger gaurd locks.

We happen to live in University housing turned drug land so I hear ya on the nervous for the kids front. I'm a fine shot with a shot gun (which is all we own as of now) but I find that the sound alone is enough to scare off anyone. We had a homeless guy pounding on our door in the middle of the night while Joe was out of town and I had no idea where the amo was so I just yelled through the door, "I am holding a gun!" And then I made that "ch ch" noise that says, "Okay, now I mean business" and he ran off.

A hand gun class and carry permit are next on my list, though. Call me crazy, but I really believe that it is important to keep guns in the hands of the good guys. Who knows how many bad guys could have been stopped if more good guys had been carrying a gun in the glove box.

Okay...I'm done sounding like crazy gun lady for the moment.

I love you more and more everytime you post Skyla. Ladies and Gentlemen it is a birth right for us to own a gun. Get one while you can because they are very soon going to become scarce. Kayla it depends on the gun and brand you want. Guns and Leather is your local store. Go there and say what you said here and they won't screw with you. I trust them and that says alot. Stay away from the smith and wesson semi autos.

Kayla, you live in Greenbrier - go check out Guns and Leather, if that's the one you were talking about. I bough mine and my wife's guns there. Great people, great price.
