I guess technically they are hippie doctors, but they are actual MDs who went to all the same classes as the docs who just want to remove every organ you have a problem with. They are committed to going the most natural and least invasive route possible and they're more likely to reccomend alternative therapes than perscription drugs.

The only kind of sickness we have encountered, was when our middle daughter was born. She was 3 weeks early and had 2 holes in her heart. She had to be seen by her heart doctor for the 1st year and take 2 kinds of heart med for it. The holes finally closed on their own. She didn't need surgery. We are SO happy that she didn't. I don't think I could stand to see my little baby having to have heart surgery!

My daughter was born 7 weeks early and it was hard to leave her in the hospital when I went home. She had the typical feeding problems and had the feeding tube for a few weeks but, thankfully, had no respiratory problems. I was excited when we got to bring her home at a whopping 4lbs 4oz!! Fortunately, she has never shown any mental problems, but she was delayed in her physical milestones. She sat up, crawled, walked (everything) very late. She's almost 5 and still has potty accidents. It's very frustrating.

Alexis, my middle daughter that had the heart problems, had problems toilet traning. She was very close starting kindergarten before she was finally toilet trained. She was a little behind on some of her milestones too but not to bad.

She just finished kindergarten and her reading level is at the end of 2nd grade. She can read just about anything you put in front of her.

Just give your daughter time. She will figure it all out soon and you'll both be so happy.

Melissa's primary care doctor referred her to an endocrinologist named Dr. Hancock, I believe. So she can get this under better control, and I'm glad. She is always hot when it feels fine to me. Oh well, soon this will be better.

As an update, we've been to the endocrinologist and Mel's free thyroid levels are being assessed via her bloodwork. With these numbers we will know if it is actually the thyroid malfunctioning or her pills she has to take causing this. He sees people on birth control all the time and this can be what's causing it. Add to that her GYN is moving her practice and we have to scrounge up a prescription from another GYN to be able to send it in to the service which provides her medicine via the mail. She needs the pills because without them she has extreme discomfort and nausea. What a headache. Just part of life.
